Out of Town Patients
We work with patients across the country and internationally who may not be able to find a top surgeon locally. We are happy to help you plan your trip and provide the details you need to know about travelling to have surgery in Connecticut.

Timeline
The preoperative consultation is usually done via telehealth for patients who live far away. Once you have scheduled your surgery, you should plan to see your primary care doctor and have blood work done about 4 weeks prior to your surgery date, which can be done locally in your hometown.
If you would like to have an in-person consultation with Dr. Chandler, this can be arranged at any time before your surgery date, including a day or two before surgery. Most of our patients stay in Connecticut 1-2 days before their surgery date, and for one week after surgery. If you have friends or family in the area, you may opt to stay with them for the week or you can choose accommodations in the area.
